Who actually builds them

Tempur-Pedic makes mattresses. The office chairs are built by the Raynor Group under licence, an arrangement announced back when Raynor partnered with Tempur-Pedic North America and Staples to put the line into offices.

What you are buying is a Raynor chair using genuine TEMPUR foam, the same pressure-relieving material that goes into the mattresses. That is a real licence rather than a sticker, and Raynor has been making office seating for a long time. It does mean the warranty, the build quality and the customer service come from Raynor, not from the company whose name is on the back.

Nobody hides this. Almost nobody mentions it either.

One model in this range has real evidence

Tempur-Pedic sells nine chair models through Raynor, and eight of them are a guess.

The TP9000 holds 4.6 stars across 662 ratings. Add every other model together, counting both ProTask listings, and you reach 384. One chair beats the other eight combined.

That gap is the buying decision. An average built on eight opinions says almost nothing about a chair you will sit in every working day, and three of these models cost more than the TP9000 while carrying a fraction of the evidence. The TP300 is the sharpest example, $475.00 with two ratings behind it.

One caveat on that 662. Amazon pools ratings across a model’s colour and material variants, so the number covers the TP9000 family rather than any single listing. I read the reviews themselves to check they belong to this chair. They run to late July 2026 and describe black, navy and burgundy task chairs.

The same chair at four different prices

The TP9000 name covers a mesh chair, a vinyl chair and a 2026 refresh carrying a cooling gel layer. The listings disagree about what that is worth.

Olive and navy are the same mesh chair in a different colour, and they were $34.71 apart on the same afternoon. Every listing above shows the identical 4.6 and the identical 662, so the star rating will not separate them for you. Pick the colour last and the price first.

Wayfair and Amazon landed ten dollars apart. Check both on the day, because that ordering is a coincidence of the moment rather than a rule about either shop.

What to buy

Tempur-Pedic TP9000 mesh swivel task chair

4.6 stars across 662 ratings, from $251.53. TEMPUR material in the seat, mesh back, adjustable arms, lumbar support.

The rating count is what decides this. Six hundred and sixty-two people is enough to see a pattern, and the pattern is good. Nothing else Raynor builds under this badge gets past 144.

The leather models

The TP300 high-back and TP350 mid-back both wrap TEMPUR foam in leather. They look like the executive chair someone buys to signal that they have an office.

Neither has enough review volume anywhere I looked to recommend honestly. If you want one, buy it somewhere with a returns policy you have read, and sit in it before the window closes.

What I passed on

Every model except the TP9000, for the reasons above. With evidence that thin, that is the right call.

I also left out the plain Ergohuman and Casden mesh chairs, which are cheaper and better reviewed than anything here. If you are not specifically after TEMPUR foam, they are on the mesh chair page and worth reading first.

Before you spend $260 on a chair

If the problem you are actually solving is a cramped desk rather than a sore back, the chair is the wrong purchase to make first. A monitor arm returns about ten by eight inches of surface for roughly the same money, and in a corner setup that is the change people notice.

Questions

Is TEMPUR foam in an office chair the same as in the mattress?
Raynor uses genuine TEMPUR material under licence, so the foam is the real thing. The chair around it is Raynor’s design and build.

Why do most of these models have so few ratings?
Low volume rather than bad product. Raynor sells this line into offices through dealers rather than one chair at a time to shoppers, so feedback builds slowly on everything except the TP9000. The data is thin rather than damning.

Is Amazon or Wayfair cheaper?
They were ten dollars apart on 16 August 2026, $251.53 against $261.50 for the mesh version, both in stock. Prices here move, so read both before ordering.

Are these worth it over a normal mesh chair?
If you have pressure-point pain and TEMPUR foam has worked for you before, yes. If you just want a comfortable chair, a well-reviewed mesh task chair at half the money will serve you better.
