How to pick a monitor light bar that fits your desk

Before anything else, I’d make sure the bar fits your monitor.

Both BenQ bars list their range in the table up top, so measure how thick your monitor is and check that it lands inside. The ranges start at 0.17 in, so a very thin monitor needs checking too.

For brightness, I’d look past how bright the center of the beam gets to how wide the light spreads. The Pro covers a patch 33 inches wide and 20 deep, the part of the desk you actually work on.

Every light here lets you warm the color up, and I’d use that late at night.

On any listing, I’d check the share of one- and two-star reviews, because that’s the slice of buyers who regret it. Then read what went wrong for them, since a glowing review won’t tell you that.
