The Best Tempur-Pedic Office Chairs for Long Days at a Desk

If you’ve searched for a Tempur-Pedic office chair and landed on a page of model numbers that all look alike, here’s where I’d start.

By Franco N.·Updated October 8, 2026

The short answer

If you want a Tempur-Pedic office chair for everyday work at a desk, get the TP9000 mesh swivel, about $265 at Wayfair. It puts TEMPUR material in the seat, and you can set the arms and the recline the way you like them.

How do the TP9000 and the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support compare?

Chair Price Warranty Returns Lowest seat height

TEMPUR-Lumbar Support About $350 10 years, limited None 19 in

Which Tempur-Pedic office chair should you buy?

I went through the Tempur-Pedic chairs sold at Amazon and Wayfair, plus the one Tempur-Pedic sells on its own site, and it came down to two.

If you’d like to spend less and still get TEMPUR foam, that’s the TP9000. If you’d rather buy from Tempur-Pedic itself, with a 10-year warranty in writing, the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support is the one, as long as you’re not on the short side.

And if you’d like to size up any chair listing the way I did here, the checks are at the bottom of the page.

What I love

  • A TEMPUR material seat with a breathable mesh back
  • Arms that adjust in height and width
  • A back that leans with you when you recline, and locks where you like it
  • Built-in lumbar support
  • Holds up to 275 lb

Good to know

  • The listings don’t give a seat height range

Best for: a home office where you sit most of the day and want TEMPUR foam under you with mesh at your back.

I love where the TEMPUR material goes on this one. It’s in the seat, where your weight actually sits, and the back is breathable mesh.

The arms move up, down, in and out to meet your desk, and when you lean back between calls, the back reclines with you. I can see why Wayfair shoppers say it stays comfortable through a long workday.

I do wish the listings mentioned a warranty. For the price, though, I think it’s a lot of chair.

Best with a long warrantyTEMPUR-Lumbar Support Office Chair

What I love

  • An adjustable TEMPUR pad for the mid and lower back
  • A 10-year limited warranty
  • Goes together without tools
  • Soft-pad arms that adjust in height and width
  • One-touch seat height and a full 360-degree swivel

Good to know

  • Tempur-Pedic doesn’t accept returns on it
  • The seat goes no lower than 19 in

Best for: someone who’d rather buy straight from Tempur-Pedic and wants a 10-year warranty behind the chair.

If your back is the reason you’re shopping, this pad is worth a close look. It’s TEMPUR too, and it adjusts to sit where you need it. Owners say it helps a sore lower back.

Not every one has held up. There are reports of an armrest coming off, and of a chair giving out inside a year. Tempur-Pedic won’t take one back, either, so the warranty is what you’d be leaning on.

A long warranty in exchange for no returns? I think that’s a fair trade, especially on a chair you’ll use every workday.

Where to buy the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support

Tempur-PedicView

Are Tempur-Pedic office chairs good?

Yes, a Tempur-Pedic chair is a good buy. You get Tempur-Pedic’s own TEMPUR material, in the TP9000’s seat and in the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support’s back pad.

Raynor builds the TP9000 and the rest of its Tempur-Pedic range under license, and Amazon lists it as the TP9000’s manufacturer. So the foam is genuine TEMPUR, and the chair around it is Raynor’s design and build.

What about the TP6450, TP7000, Stratus and the rest of the range?

I’d still start with one of the two above. With those, you know what you’d pay and whether you can send it back.

If you’d rather sit on fabric, there’s the TP6400, and for leather, the TP350. For cooling gel, I’d look at the TP4000C.

Want an executive chair? That’s the Stratus. The TP8200 is a drafting stool, a different kind of seat altogether.

What should you check before you buy an office chair online?

I trust the share of one- and two-star reviews more than any headline score, because it shows you how many buyers regret the chair. The TP9000 does better on that count than the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support, going by the reviews at Wayfair and on Tempur-Pedic’s site. And many of the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support’s recent five-star reviews are tagged as sweepstakes entries, so I’d read its score as a little generous.

Before you fall for a photo, read the returns line. You can’t sit in a chair you order online, so the return window is your sit test. The TP9000 at Wayfair comes with 30 days from delivery for a refund or store credit, and Tempur-Pedic takes no returns on its chair.

Then hold the lowest seat height up against your own height. That bottom setting decides whether your feet reach the floor, and if you’re around 5 foot 4, the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support’s 19 inches will likely be too tall. If you’re on the shorter side, I’d put that number ahead of everything else on the listing.

Setting up a desk in a corner? The Work Nook has the rest of the setup, from the desk to where the monitor goes.

If you don’t need TEMPUR foam at all, a mesh chair like the Eurotech Vera is worth a look. My own is a Eurotech iOO, which I bought in July 2020. It’s still going strong, I think of it as an Aeron alternative, and I’d buy it again.

Questions people ask

Is the Tempur-Pedic office chair worth it?

For the TP9000, I think so. It’s the less expensive of my two picks, and Wayfair gives you 30 days to send it back. The TEMPUR-Lumbar Support makes sense if a 10-year warranty matters more to you than a return window.

Do Tempur-Pedic office chairs come with a warranty?

The TEMPUR-Lumbar Support comes with a 10-year limited warranty, in writing from Tempur-Pedic. The TP9000’s Amazon and Wayfair listings don’t mention one, so it’s worth asking the seller before you buy.

Should you buy on Amazon or from Tempur-Pedic?

They sell different chairs. Amazon and Wayfair carry the TP9000, and Tempur-Pedic’s own site sells the TEMPUR-Lumbar Support, with free shipping in two business days. I’d go with the TP9000 from Wayfair, which gives you 30 days to change your mind and ships it free too.

What’s the difference between the TP9000 and the TP9000C?

The TP9000C is a TP9000 with a cooling gel layer added.
