How deep does your desk need to be?
The TX’s worksurface is 27 in front to back, deeper than the WorkFit-T’s or the WorkFit-TL’s. That’s a real plus on a deep desk, with room for two monitors, or a monitor and a laptop, without crowding.
Ergotron rates the TX for a desk as shallow as 24 in, the same as the WorkFit-T and the TL, and it simply sits on top, with nothing to clamp. Its worksurface is still 27 in deep, so on a 24 in desk the front 3 in hang past the edge. On a desk 27 in deep or more, the whole worksurface stays on the desk.
How high does it go?
From its lowest setting to its highest, the keyboard tray moves 20 in. Your screens rise 17 in along with it, and the tray has 3 in more of its own, so your screens and your keyboard don’t have to move as one.
The tray tilts back, too, and at its lowest it sits 3.5 in below your desktop. That’s a big plus when you sit, since it brings the keyboard down closer to your lap.
It folds down low and goes straight up
The TX rises on an X-shaped lift, and at rest it folds down to within 2 in of your desk. If you sit most of the day and stand in bursts, that low resting height keeps your screens close to where they’d be on the desk itself.
It travels straight up and down with no sway, and its solid metal build keeps it from tipping. In a corner, where the desk can hem you in on two sides, a platform that rises straight stays out of your space.
