The S2S Sit-Stand Workstation Is Gone
Amazon has it as unavailable with no restock date, and the Workrite version is discontinued.
The numbers
- Amazon listing for the S2S Dual: currently unavailable, no restock date given, zero ratings
- Gas-assisted travel: over 22 in
- Counter-balanced height adjustment: 9.5 in, plus 45 degrees of tilt and 90 degrees of rotation
- Monitor limit: two screens up to 24 in, 20 lb combined
- Workrite S2S Compact, models 2472-17 and 2472-22: discontinued, adjusted 16 in above to 6 in below the desk
The short answer
You cannot buy this. Amazon lists the S2S Dual as currently unavailable and says it does not know when or if it will return, and the listing carries no ratings at all. The Workrite S2S keyboard systems that shared the name are marked discontinued by ErgoDirect.
I am leaving the page up because the design solved a real corner-desk problem and the search traffic keeps arriving. If you are here holding one and looking for parts, the model numbers below are what you want to quote.
What it did
The S2S clamped to the back edge of a desk rather than sitting on top of it. The arm then reached forward over the surface, carrying the monitors, with the keyboard tray hanging below desk height. Amazon’s listing describes the whole assembly swinging out of the way so the desk surface stays usable.
That rear-mount idea matters more in a corner than anywhere else. A converter that parks on the desk eats the deepest, most awkward part of a corner nook, which is exactly the area you cannot reach anyway. Clamping at the back and cantilevering forward gives that space back.
The numbers that decided whether it worked
Over 22 in of gas-assisted travel, which the listing frames as covering everyone from a 5th percentile seated woman to a 95th percentile standing man. On top of that, 9.5 in of counter-balanced adjustment, 45 degrees of tilt, and 90 degrees of portrait-to-landscape rotation. It met ANSI/BIFMA and HFES 100-2007. A grommet mount came in the box, so it did not have to clamp an edge.
The limit that ruled it out for a lot of people sits in the monitor spec. Two screens up to 24 in, and no more than 20 lb for both together. That is a tight budget. A pair of ordinary 24 in monitors with stands removed will often clear it, but two heavier panels will not, and the listing gives a combined figure rather than a per-arm one.
The Workrite versions
Workrite Ergonomics sold S2S keyboard tray systems under the same name. ErgoDirect lists the S2S Compact as models 2472-17 and 2472-22, adjusting from 16 in above the work surface to 6 in below it, with 30 degrees of tilt split as 20 down and 10 up, sized for keyboards under 6 in deep, carrying a lifetime warranty. That page now states the product has been discontinued.
So both halves of the S2S name are off the market. The keyboard trays and the dual-monitor workstation went at different times and for different reasons, and neither has a direct replacement carrying the name forward.
The listing

Plain link, and it pays me nothing. It is there so you can check the stock line yourself rather than take my word that it is gone.
If you own one
Worth knowing
Quote the model numbers when you chase parts. Workrite still publishes replacement-part collections for its sit-stand lines, and a discontinued product is not the same as an unsupported one. The gas cylinder is the component that usually goes first on this kind of arm, and it is the one most likely to still be orderable.
What to look at instead
I have not found a converter that copies the rear-clamp geometry at a sensible price, so I am not going to invent a recommendation. The desks and converters I have actually checked live on the work nook page, and when something replaces this design properly it will go there first.
Questions
Is the S2S coming back?
Amazon’s own wording is that it does not know when or if the item will be back in stock. Treat that as no.
How much weight did it hold?
Two monitors up to 24 in, 20 lb combined. That is the figure that catches people out.
Who made it?
The Amazon listing carries the brand S2S Standing Desk. Workrite Ergonomics sold the S2S keyboard tray systems, which ErgoDirect now marks discontinued.
